Support & License
There are no
mandatory monthly license or support fees.
The intent is to
give you the reassurance that you are not locked in.
We anticipate you will
choose support because we give great value. In fact, almost all practices
choose support.
Please note that we do not support practices that do not
purchase the BBBB, a server appliance that helps ensure you get the best
possible service from our organisation.
Support includes:
1) Telephone
and email support.
2) Remote management of the BBBB
Support can
only be purchased in advance, on an annual basis, and
costs:
R533.49* per month (if you chose not to receive
paper labs reports - we will need to be c.c. on your letters to your labs
confirming this) and
R847.85* (if you chose to receive
paper reports in addition to your electronic Bluebird reports).

This high end server appliance, without which we do not offer support, is currently priced at R17 257.20 (including VAT but excluding courier charges), however, pricing is dependent on hardware costs at the time of purchase.

Off-Site Backup

receive the majority of their lab reports on Bluebird, else R163.74

Remote Access

We regularly get asked how we manage to offer
such reasonable pricing. The answer is threefold:
1) We
have been a successful business for more than 15 years and our initial costs are
long paid off.
2) We do not employ a sales force (which generally doubles
the software cost). This means that we do not come to your practice to give you
a demo, rather we expect you to make the decision to try our software by
accessing our web resources
You (perhaps with the help of your local IT tech) are able set up a full
system without any financial outlay.
3) We charge the labs to send your
electronic lab reports (typically 1% of the medical aid payment for the test)
and use that fee to subsidise your charges. If you choose not to receive your lab results electronically, a surcharge will apply to your monthly support fee.
